Myoung Ho Lee is a student, lecturer and photographer based in Seoul, Korea. He attracted international acclaim in 2007 with his series Tree.
Myoung Ho Lee creates elaborate, unlikely large-scale temporary installations but his constructions are built for the purpose of photographing the results.
The concept of his Tree series of photographs is rather simple but the impact generates intriguing questions about representation, reality, environment and seeing. He isolates each tree from immediate environment by an immense white canvas backdrop, creating in effect “a temporary monumental door art installation” (Jim Casper). (more…)
